Secretory otitis media (SOM) or otitis media with effusion (OME), is a common pediatric condition characterized by the accumulation of fluid in the middle ear without signs of acute infection. This meta analysis examines the efficacy and complications of adenoidectomy combined with tympanostomy tube insertion (TTI) in treating SOM in children. Through an analysis of recent studies, the combined surgical approach is evaluated for its effectiveness in improving hearing outcomes and reducing recurrence rates, as well as the potential risks and complications associated with the procedures.
