Author Guidelines

• Ensure that it has not been published elsewhere meanwhile, either in part or in full, including the illustrations. Submit declaration separately in supplementary files.
• Let the whole text be in TNR font size 11 with single space without any additional space in between the paragraphs. Main text should be in TNR font size 11 and Subheadings in TNR bold, font 9. Text should follow in the next line. References, tables and figure illustrations should be in TNR font 9.
• Provide a short/running title.
• The abstract should begin with the justification of the present study and its requirement. Why at all this study? What is the demand/necessity for such a study?
• Keywords need not repeat terms that already appear in the title. Avoid generic terms as well.
• Article has to be in proper IMRAD format. Read some latest IJEB papers and revise it accordingly
• Introduction reads quite lengthy. Reduce it to one page.
• Introduction and M & M section needs to have adequate references.
• Room temperature has to be specified at its first occurrence in the text.
• Avoid giving references collectively. Better distribute to specific statements/claims. Do not give surplus references to ascertain one statement.
• Take out all the tables and illustrations and append them after references. The order should be Tables, followed by figure legends in a separate page and then figures.
• Discussion has to be elaborative. Strength of your subject expertise is revealed by how strong is this section reads.
• Conclusion is lacking. It has to have brief mentioning of the results obtained in this study, and to address the objective mentioned at the end of introduction.
• References are to be updated for at least 2020-24. Let the total number of references be >40. Cut down the old and surplus references. Please check our repository NOPR  too. It also serves as a source of literature in addition to other sources.
• Avoid citing references from fake journals (Please check if your references are from journals indexed by standard agencies, such as SCI indexed (including SCI-expanded and Emerging SCI lists), Scopus, PubMed, etc. You may also visit University Grants Commission (UGC), Govt. of India web page and use the list of approved journals to verify. Sources from NAAS should have their score >6.
• Format and style of references in the text as well as in the respective reference section is not as per IJEB pattern. While citing refs in the text as superscript there should not be any space between (neither between the sentence and reference number in superscript nor between the ref nos.). For e.g. it should not be like “same species [14, 15].” but like this “same species^14,15.” If it is more than two refs, then it needs to by hyphenated. For e.g. “... of all drugs and foreign substances ^{1, 2, 3}.” “... of all drugs and foreign substances^1-3.”
• For ‘references’ section, strictly follow the pattern of IJEB [author names (initials without space), ‘&’ before the last author and comma after the end of the author names; title of the paper followed by full stop, source (abbreviated form of the journal following international standards and in italics without any full stop) followed by non-italic comma, vol no., year within brackets followed by initial page no. followed by a full stop].
• In references, we give all author names. et al. will not work in IJEB.
• Also, follow proper style for units: “μl” should be “μL”. Similarly, mL also. Moreover, use proper symbols for temperature degree, minus sign, etc. You may refer any latest paper from IJEB through our open repository NOPR at http://nopr.niscpr.res.in.
• Terms like ‘in vivo’, ‘in vitro’, ‘in silico’ and botanical/zoological names should be italics wherever they occur in the MS, including references.
• All tables should be in TNR font 9, single line space, no bold letters with proper rows and columns. Ensure that table data are not duplicated in figures as well.
• Figures need to be provided with resolution >300. They can be of two sizes depending up on suitability, 8.5 or 17.5 cm width. Text portion within the text has to be readable. Avoid colour. If required use different patterns instead of colours to differentiate.
• Ethical statements like Conflict-of-interest, Animal rights (if involved) and Informed consent (if involved) need to be specified as per Committee on Publication Ethics guidelines, separately prior to Reference. Provide necessary approval details also.
• Figure legends are to be given separately in a page after the tables.
• Language and punctuation throughout the papers needs attention. Avoid adjectives, unwarranted hyphen, articles, etc. Take professional help, if required.
