Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannibinol (Δ9-THC), has shown neuroprotective effects on animal models, but cannot be used as a drug for treatment as it is controversial to use an addiction drug for treatment and also, they have toxic and addictive effects on humans. Embelin (isolated from Embelia Ribes) falls under herbal medicine category. In this study we have computationally showed the pharmacokinetic and drug-likeliness effects of Embelin are similar to Δ9-THC, thus can be used as an alternative reference standard as supported by docking studies.
