Abstract

Fifteen compounds containing benzothiazole were synthesized successfully via Suzuki reaction of 2-(4-bromophenyl)benzothiazole (1) and phenylboronic acid derivatives in high yield. All samples displayed fluorescence emissions at wavelengths in the range of 380 to 450 nm under the excitation light of 330 nm. Compounds 2d, 2e, 2h and 2k exhibited quite good fluorescent property.
