About the Journal

JSIR, started in 1942, is the first journal of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). It is being published by the CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (NIScPR), formerly known as CSIR-NISCAIR. It caters to entrepreneurs, technologists, engineers, technocrats, and scientists on one hand, as well as planners, administrators, and managers.

Original research articles of interest to industry, reviews on frontiers of science and technology, and articles on management and policies relating to science, technology, and industrial applications are invited for publication. Reviews on current topics are encouraged. Articles that are purely theoretical or on basic science without a clear industrial relevance, irrelevant agricultural trials, or isolated product development with no industrial context and unsubstantiated design concepts lacking experimental validation are out of scope for this journal. For online submission, authors are required to register themselves here. Make sure to follow the Author guidelines before submission. The Online Publishing ensures end-to-end automation of editorial processes. The Impact Factor of JSIR is 0.8 (JCR 2025).
