Abstract

In the modern digital era, libraries have evolved into vital centers for health information dissemination, particularly in promoting the usage of mobile health (mHealth) services. These services offer a wide range of benefits, from remote consultations to health monitoring, and libraries serve as essential touchpoints for increasing awareness about their availability and applications. By fostering digital literacy, libraries help bridge the knowledge gap, equipping individuals with the skills to navigate mobile health tools effectively. Furthermore, libraries provide access to the necessary technology, such as computers, smartphones, and Wi-Fi, that many people may not have at home, ensuring equitable access to mHealth services. As community hubs, libraries play a crucial role in engaging local populations, offering workshops, informational sessions, and one-on-one support to help individuals understand and use mHealth platforms. Additionally, the adoption and usage of these services are influenced by various factors. Socioeconomic status often determines access to both digital devices and the internet, which can limit an individual's ability to utilize mHealth resources. Digital literacy is a significant barrier, as those with limited tech skills may find it difficult to engage with mobile health tools. Cultural perceptions and attitudes towards technology and healthcare further impact mHealth adoption, with some communities being more hesitant to embrace digital health solutions due to distrust or unfamiliarity. By understanding and addressing these challenges, libraries can enhance the reach and effectiveness of mHealth services, empowering individuals to take control of their health.
