Abstract

A compact two-element Asscher-shaped wideband MIMO antenna system is proposed in this communication. The Asscher-shaped MIMO system consists of a partial ground plane, an Asscher-shaped patch loaded with CSRR. The bandwidth of the antenna is from 2.5 to 6.4 GHz with a notch at 5.7 GHz which covers WLAN (4,6.2 GHz), WiMAX (4, 5.5 GHz), GSMA (3.5 to 4.2 GHz) and Mid band 5G (3.5 to 4.2 GHz). A decoupling structure enhances the isolation between its elements. The fabricated antenna accommodates 35.2 x67.5 x1.6 mm3. The performance of Asscher shaped MIMO antenna is assessed using the S-parameters, radiation pattern, ECC, DG, TARC, MEG, and CCL. The results from simulation and measurement are validated and both accord well. The antenna design involves simple geometry with no intricate process in fabrication.
