Abstract

Open Access (OA) publishing rates have increased dramatically over the past decade. However, few studies have focused on the publishing activities and attitudes of early career researchers. The purpose of this study was to examine the current publishing activities of media on open access and their distribution being dependent on geography and media houses, which have covered open access articles. The study is based on data collected by the Factiva database for the last 3 years, i.e., from 2020 to 2022. How many articles related to open access have been published on various news media platforms specifically newspapers; whether it is a print newspapers or electronic written news media and wires, all these have been studied extensively
