Bibliometric Analysis of Library and Information Science Research in BRICS Countries

This study presents a bibliometric analysis of Library and Information Science research produced by BRICS countries during 2000–2025. A total of 6,875 publications were retrieved from the Scopus database. Then the data was visualized with the use of the Biblioshiny tool. As per the results, the publication rate has remained steady. The most prolific author is Zhang Y. who has written 179 papers and received 4,299 citations. Moreover, China is seen as the largest contributor to LIS research in BRICS countries as it has produced 2,699 papers, whereas Medicine (United States) is seen as the most prolific source one with 362 papers.
