Abstract

Objectives: The goal of this study is to assess the significant advancements made in the usage of wireless communication technology (WCT) in libraries over the last few decades. It analyses how wireless technology helps expand library services and user community integration in academic and social environments. It also examines wireless technology research trends in libraries, their potential expansion, and hurdles to improving the current situation's profitability.

Outlook of Evidence Acquisition: The PRISMA approach was used to carry out the research. The researcher used three databases to locate scholarly articles on wireless technologies in libraries (EBSCO, J-gate+, and Google Scholar).  He evaluated studies that have direct links to libraries and have been published in English. In addition, the researcher used dictionaries and encyclopedia websites to define and clarify technical terms to strengthen the study.

Results and Discussion:  Published articles on Wireless Technology and its application in libraries, including additional resources, were studied and analyzed. The overall research on the concept reveals that many academic institutions and public libraries have begun using Wireless Tech-based services at various sites to develop libraries and improve students' learning activities. According to some studies, it was challenging to implement Wireless Technology in the libraries due to a lack of ICT skills, financial constraints, and hostility among library employees and readers toward the system.

Conclusion:

Wireless technology in libraries is critical for providing users with easily accessible, protected, and effective services. While there are some problems, especially in terms of security and network structure, the benefits of wireless networking in supporting library services are undeniable. To satisfy the changing requirements of their clients, libraries must continue to adapt and improve their WCT infrastructure.
