Exploring Research Productivity and Collaboration Pattern of Assam University Silchar from 1994-2025: A Scientometrics Analysis

Abstract

The study is a scientometric analysis of the research and collaboration pattern of Assam University, Silchar, during 1994-2025, based on data retrieved from the Scopus database. Scientometric indicators AGR, RGR, DT, and DC were used to analyse 4869 publications. The results demonstrate a gradual rise in research output, with a mean AGR of 18.72, especially after 2010. The study examines the university's research output, citation impact, and trends in scientific productivity over time. By analysing year-wise distribution of publications, RGR, and DT, Degree of Collaboration, most preferred journals, type of published documents, topmost subject areas, most prolific authors, collaborative nations, and affiliation with the university, type of sources that have been published, and most repeated keywords occurrences, which shows an increasing research performance of the university.
